In Situ

Have you ever tasted something so delightful it made your heart sing? As I was sitting there, waiting—mid-afternoon in November, my senses awakened. The sweet, light, and fluffy macchiato-esque caramelized carrot soup was the perfect harmony to the director’s salad—taking the melodic lead with its finely chopped greens, layered with bits of delicate nuts, scattered, and a circle of deconstructed garlic bread mounted on top of chicken, with refreshing notes of lemon.

At that moment—feeling the air breezing through the open doors, with a window view of people passing by, a water fountain up ahead with water flowing up and down, and sun shining onto the wooden table of In Situ, I had the realization—the most blissful moments in life are bites of novelty.
